In case anyone’s missed it, Ralfy over at ralfy.com is doing a fascinating handheld-cam tour of the Springbank Distillery in the Campbeltown area of Scotland in several parts. Check this link to catch up. I’ve already learned several things: That Longrow, Hazelburn, and Springbank single-malts are all owned by (and distilled at) the Springbank Distillery. That Hazelburn is non-peated and triple distilled in the Auchentoshan style… and that Springbank is largely self-contained, doing its own floor maltings, mashing, and all the rest up to final bottling. Great stuff, Ralfy, especially for those of us across the pond who can’t hop over to take a distillery tour all that often!
