Ahh, January. That magical time of year when the holidays are over, the weather is ugly, and literally everyone you know is sick. Because Hot Toddies are the only respectable way to consume whisky while fighting off a cold, there will be no review this week. Apologies. I’m sure I’ve posted this before, but just in case you’re in the same boat as me, here’s my Hot Toddy recipe:
1 cup of just-off-the-boil hot water or herbal tea
1/4 of a lemon, juiced
1 tsp of honey, stirred until dissolved in aforementioned hot liquid
1 oz (no more!) of whisky, brandy, rum, or whatever. I’m partial to blended scotch here, like Bank Note 5 year.
Drink it while it’s hot. Does it cure a cold? Probably not. But it helps you mentally deal with it. Just don’t overdo them, being sick AND hungover is no bueno.
